Armstrong Concord is our base model heat pump. Its energy efficiency rating in cooling is 13 SEER, which stands for seasonal energy efficiency ratio. The HSPF – or Heating Seasonal Performance Factor is 7.7. All of these efficiency ratings are realized when this pump is matched with a standard air handler. Standard meaning it has a typical multi speed blower motor. When matched with a more efficient variable speed air handler, which we will cover in a later section, the ratings go up as much as one point in SEER rating. Remember your purchasing a system here – not just the outdoor section of a heat pump.
This system utilizes R-22 refrigerant, also known as Freon, the industry standard for the last 50 years. It has louvered panels to protect the copper coils. It has a durable Copland compressor with a 5-year warranty on the part and a 1-year warranty on the labor to replace it, should it fail. The rest of the system comes with a 5-year parts and 1 year labor warranty. Over all this system is very dependable, affordable and will provide you with years of economical comfort.
