The Tech 91 has an efficiency rating, or AFUE of 91%. What does this mean? For every dollar of gas you put into your furnace 91 cents goes to heating your home – only 9 cents is waste product that goes up your chimney. Think of it as miles per gallon in your car – the higher the number the less gas you use.
The Tech 91 has two heat exchangers, both stainless steel, both warranted forever to the original home owner. Compare this to other manufactures featuring lesser quality aluminized steel heat exchangers.
This furnace also has sealed combustion. In other words it draws air from outside your home directly into the heat exchanger to burn with the natural gas. Many furnaces use air from your basement to burn, air you’ve already paid to heat! The Tech 91 uses free outside air, making it more efficient and helping to reduce drafts.
The Tech 91 has a multi speed, adjustable blower motor. High speed is used in cooling to push heavy cold air throughout your home in the summer, while a lower speed is gently moving warm air in the winter time. The result; reduced draft resulting in more comfort.
The Tech 91 has no pilot light. It lights itself on a call for heat.
